Stuff and Nonsense
Ok ok so I’m the world’s worst blogger. I’ve been erm, doing other things.
Recent events – fun and games in the hospital. I was hospitalised for suspected appendicitis, after a large bout of vomiting and other fun things, with a lot of pain in my stomach. Turned out in the end to look like Gastro Enteritis, but I have to have some more scans done to confirm that it isn’t a problem with my appendix or gall bladder. It was a nasty night and day spent in hospital, but R came to look after me and made me fell all better
Oh turns out I have Gilbert’s as well. This is something to do with my liver not properly breaking down red blood cells, and it affect my “bilyrubin” (an enzyme) count when I’m sick or overtaxed, which is not apparently something that I need to worry about, just something to know in the future when blood tests show up dodgy. They doctor told me Gilberts is a benign syndrome, and won’t affect me in general, it just can make blood test results a little skewed when I’m really ill. I’ll do some more research on it shortly.
In other news I’ve cut all my hair off! Well, Otis my hairdresser and good friend cut it off anyways. I decided that while I would like to see what it’s like having long hair when I’m not so overweight, in the meantime it’s beginning to get in the way and is too hot for summer and the gym etc. So I had it all cut short, and went for a style I’ve never had before. I’ve gotten one of those scruffy kind of haircuts with stuff sticking out in every direction, and some blond colour in it as well. They ended up dying the rest of my hair a dark chocolate brown so the change is quite striking – it’s taking me a while to get used to it but contrary to my fears I’ve been getting loads and loads of really positive comments about it, so I’m pretty chuffed with it. Now to finish losing the weight and look like a normal human being again…

Yeah I do remember when you were ill – in fact it was the first thing I thought of when they mentioned Gilberts. I’m wondering if the same wouldn’t hold true for me – that my bilyrubin count would have been out of whack with whatever was wrong with me. Guess I’d better show up for those follow up tests.[Reply]
