Comes the Spring
Saw sparrows building nests in the eaves of flinders street station this morning, while I was waiting for my very early train (see coming entry where I explain my new hobby of bettering myself through torture and/or exercise). A nice thing to see somehow. One of the big movie cliches is where the characters are reassured by the sight of some process of nature, assuring them that all is right with the world after whatever disaster it is they’ve just lived through – and I think everyone is just made at ease by seeing the odd evidence of life ticking along the way it should be.
I suppose there’s some reassurance in nature, because even as much as we’ve been destroying it it remains constant – nature always is the way it is, it’s cycles go round and the balance of the ecosystem is upheld (albeit sometimes with chewing gum and duct tape), whereas life can get kinda hectic for us. Wow, would you listen to me ramble. In sum – little birds, nests. Nice.
Thing is though, that whole natural progression of the universe thing means that spring is on it’s way, and is busily shooing away the lovely rain and cold weather. *sob*. Whatever will I do.
Many more updates to come but I’ve been getting up at 0500 ish for a week now and I’m going to go rest my weary pins. (yes that’s right, I’ve been getting up early, in the *morning*….)
